Scandi Style

We were so inspired by the Scandinavian style in the January issues Northern Light story that we asked two Swedish tastemakers for decor ideas. Jen Mankins (above right) owns Bird, a beloved chain of New York boutiques, and Starrett Zenko Ringbom (above left) is the media director for Bird. Lucky for us, they were happy to share.

1. This summer on a road trip along the west coast of Sweden, we came across a traditional Swedish ceramic factory, Hgans Keramik, that makes salt-glazed pottery and stoneware, and you can find the new line of goods online. -Jen

4. One of my favorite Swedish designers is Carl Malmsten. I have a few glass vases and wooden candle holders, but am pining for a sofa or an armchair. -Jen

5. The best and most useful Swedish design products ever are sheepskins. Technically they werent invented in Sweden, but the ones from Gotland (the Swedish island in the Baltic sea) are the best in the world. -Jen
